I had someone answer a comment I made with this:
Your sins were paid for at cavalry. Your sins aren't forgiven until you believe and ask for forgivness, ( ask being the most important ). Romans 10: 8 thru 10
How can we say this is not true? It's Paul writing to us isn't it? It does say to confess with your mouth and believe in your heart and you will be saved.

Do you have more context to your conversation? I mean...the gift is there for free, but unless you are a Calvinist you have the free will to ignore it. Is this person saying that believing is a work? I don't know about anyone else, but when He saved me I couldn't help but to tell everyone! See...this is where I do get fuzzy since understanding dispensations too. I don't understand how people can say that anyone could be saved with NO evidence (fruit). That could be a whole separate topic though. (?)
