I just heard a Baptist minister give a message on salvation and he used "the Roman road" verses:
Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
It's kind of a contradiction of other verses which say it's a gift which means we do nothing for it. This is the problems I have with explaining right division with someone. Is Paul talking about Jews in these verses? I heard someone say that even Paul's letters have to be rightly divided.

I want to go back and re-read all of this in context (and read what others will answer)...but
I've always understood these to mean that's what happens (can't help it if you are saved)...not that you DO it.
