Hello brothers and sisters in Christ, I recently came into the knowledge of the Grace message after reading C.R. Stam's "Things That Differ", I had excepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior at the age of 18 (I am now 33) in a Pentecostal Denominational church. During my time in that church I was always led to believe that I can loose my salvation, and in order to maintain my salvation I need to do good works (tithing, baptizing, confessing, etc). It was such a burden until I finally came to the knowledge of the Grace Message + no work in regard to salvation. My question is since I was under this false doctrine of loosing your salvation was I not saved during my years as a member of this particular pentecostal denomination?

hey rightlydivided, nice to have you on board. first a question for you. what did you believe got you saved. if you believed that jesus died for your sins was buried and rose again and called upon the name of the lord to save you believing this gospel and nothing else then you were saved at that moment, sealed until the day of redemption. if you trusted in something else works, baptism, etc. then you have not believed that jesus paid it all, their is nothing one can do to get salvation except believe what christ did for you and me, he did it all. and the faith of christ keeps you saved, he cannot deny himself. hope this will help you. yours in christ ron.

Hi Ron, thanks for your feedback, when I was at that particular pentecostal church and had excepted Christ as my Savior, I did believe that he died for my sins, was buried and rose again. However I was also led to believe that I could loose my salvation and I had to do good works and always confess my sins.

i beleive you was saved, just had some really bad doctrine taught to you. alot of people are get saved, they are giving paul's gospel, then the tradition comes. look at what billy graham would do in his years on the road. he would give them the gospel then leave and the wolves would come in. mostly in catholic places, look what happens in the book of galatians, they get saved, someone comes after paul, puts them back under the law, oh foolish galatians who hath bewitched you. their's alot of bewitching today. peter ruckman a great kjb defender and one who know's division but has turned his back on it and now confuses people with it, so he wont loose his baptist following. so continue in the things that your learning now, let the spirit teach you whether these things are so. this forum has alot of answers to your questions already posted, spend some time with it. in christ ron
