Do You Believe “Another Gospel?”
[27 September 2009]
In Galatians 1:6-9 KJV, we find this warning:
“6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from the Him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”
The churches in Galatia, like our world today, had a major problem: FALSE TEACHING. Instead of these Gentile Galatian believers recognizing they were in the Body of Christ, separate from the Nation Israel, they were being told by false teachers that they had to practice Judaism to be saved! The poor Galatians, like most church members today, were allowing this false teaching to continue!
Look at Galatians 3:3 KJV: “Are ye so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are ye made now perfect by the flesh?” In other words, the Apostle Paul writes: “Galatians, why do you want to be circumcised and keep the Law of Moses when the Holy Spirit has already saved you APART from Judaism?” We certainly have many people trying to work for their salvation today in the name of religion.
Now, the Apostle John is writing the Book of Revelation to seven Jewish synagogues scattered about the Roman Empire. Jesus Christ, speaking through John’s letter, commends the Jews in Ephesus for their rejecting false teachers (Revelation 2:2). Unfortunately, if God wrote most people in Christendom a letter today, He would never give commendation. In fact, shame on most professing Christians today because they are praising the false teachers, and ridiculing the true Christians!
If every professing Christian had a FIRM understanding of Galatians 1:7-9, these false teachers would be easy to spot. But, sadly, most Christians have not been taught enough Scripture to stand up for the Truth. “Take Jesus into your heart” is NOT the Gospel of Grace. “Repent and be baptized” is NOT the Gospel of Grace. “Jesus wants you to be healthy, happy, and wealthy” is NOT the Gospel of Grace.
False teachers and their false gospels come in all varieties. Regardless of denomination or religion, there are false teachers all over our globe. They are getting rich by fooling people with their so-called “spiritual knowledge” (2 Peter 2:1-3). These prosperity (good health and great wealth) gospels are dangerous. They are DECEPTIVE because they have a similarity to the one and only Gospel of Grace. Look at 2 Corinthians 11:13-15. False teachers may use Jesus Christ’s name, they may mention the cross, they may have a ThD or a PhD, but they still lie and they are still workers of Satan: some false teachers claim to be of God, but then they deny the Trinity, the rapture, and the resurrection, ironically! Or, they add repentance, water baptism, confession of sins, or other things as being necessary for salvation. According to them, faith is not sufficient for salvation: HOWEVER, God’s Word has the greatest authority, and It says that FAITH IN CHRIST IS SUFFICIENT FOR SALVATION.
Brethren, I love you all in the Lord, so I exhort (encourage) you to heed the Lord’s warning: “if anyone preaches another gospel, beside the unadulterated/unperverted Gospel of Grace (salvation is found by faith ALONE in Christ’s bloodshed, death, burial and resurrection), let that false teacher be accursed!” Have nothing to do with that person because he or she is doing the devil’s work, literally! I URGE you, wherever you are in the world, to consider this matter. As we approach the end time, and the rapture, our world is being prepared for the antichrist. While we will never go through the Tribulation as believers in Christ, we will still see false teaching wax worse and worse. Keep an eye out for the brethren. Warn them when they are being deceived. Study your Bibles, so you can be ready when false teachers come your way.
Three Questions:
Question 1-----> Is your local church preaching “another gospel?” You need to leave it and look for a sound church.
Question 2-----> Have you believed “another gospel?” You need to be saved by believing the one and only Gospel of Grace. Any other “gospel” leads to a lost eternity in the Lake of Fire.
Question 3-----> Or have you taught “another gospel?” You need to stop! Start teaching and preaching the Gospel of Grace, unadulterated and pure.
