“Rightly Dividing” the Scriptures: Why Is “Rightly Dividing” Necessary?
Now that you know how to “rightly divide” the Bible, It has begun to make so much sense. Has It not? You are one of the few Christians who know how to correctly use the Bible! As 2 Timothy 2:15 states, you are now “approved of God.”
America’s church members need to forget about denominational doctrine, and start relying on something stable and absolute: God’s Word, rightly divided! Israel and the Body of Christ are separate entities and they CANNOT and DO NOT mix. Most professing Christians refuse to admit that “rightly dividing” is necessary, as they would rather be unlearned, confused, and burdened with Mosaic Law-keeping. What a sad reality.
Many Christians have abandoned the King James Version because the language is “too archaic.” The NIV, NASB, NLT, and NKJV have replaced the KJV, and this is such a shame. In the KJV, 2 Timothy 2:15 has the words “study” and “rightly dividing.” You can find neither of these terms in most of these newer English Bible translations! They have (intentionally) used corrupt manuscripts, and nearly every newer English Bible translation contains the same mistakes as every other (I have researched that)!
“Do your best” and “be diligent” are NOT synonymous with “study.” The words “rightly dividing” have been replaced with the inferior statement: “correctly handling.” “Rightly dividing” in the Greek is a carpenter’s term meaning “to cut straight.” If you don’t cut a piece of wood straight (“rightly divide Scripture”), you get a crooked cut (“confusion of the Scriptures”). That analogy shows us that you do not get the full impact of the verse with the simple phrase “correctly handling.”
Most church members are not “rightly dividing” the Scriptures. When you mix Law and Grace, Israel with the Body Christ, you get (most of America):
(1) Those who keep the Saturday Sabbath holy by not working on that day.
(2) Some groups are adhering to Old Testament kosher food laws.
(3) Some Christians doubt their salvation because they are relying on Old Testament verses.
(4) Some pastors are forcing their congregations to be water baptized and to give a ten percent tithe (from personal experience).
(5) Most Sunday morning sermons come from the Four Gospels, ignoring the Gentile books of Grace of Romans through Philemon (from personal experience).
(6) It gets worse... Some churches deliberately ignore Paul’s writings because they want to be under the Mosaic Law. Many deny Paul’s apostleship and have discarded Romans through Philemon! (If you throw away Paul’s writings, you will never have salvation because the Gospel of Grace cannot be found in anything else but Paul’s books!)
Be not ignorant of how to use the Scriptures. Rightly divide the Scriptures, and the Bible will literally become an open book!
